Vibrations

What to Know

Continuous vibration can stir up sediment and hinder the natural development of wine.  Urban vibrations from tractor trailers, traffic and subways can do this. Machine vibrations from generators and cooling units can also affect the wine aging process. Constant vibrations also threaten to break down or shatter fragile glass bottles containing prized old vintages.

At Horse Ridge Cellars

Our rural location ensures that your wine won’t be affected by continuous vibrations. HRC sits off a dirt road and buried in a hill in picturesque north central Connecticut. We aren’t affected by city vibrations, and since our facility maintains a constant temperature, our HVAC equipment doesn’t shake the building. HRC is the most peaceful place to store your wine.
